Case Group

Case Group

A Case Group is a grouping of cases withing Veriscan. Case Groups are optional and cases are not required to belong to a Case Group. Case Groups are used for 2 functions

  1. Apply compliance rules to a defined subset of Cases
For example: assign screening responsibilities or configure alert settings
  2. Organize Cases into logical segments
For example: group by region, business unit, or department

The Case Manager provides filtering by Case Group for easier navigation.

A case may only belong to a single case group.

Because Case Groups may contain global compliance rules for all cases within the group, it is recommended that the Case Groups permission be restricted to compliance administrators in Verican view user permissions.

Email Alerts

Veriscan automatically sends email notifications to help ensure Case Reports are reviewed in a timely manner.
The Default Assignee of a Case Group can be used to assignee all new Case Reports opened within the group.

There are two types of email recipients:

  1. Default Assigned User (Assignee):
Any users assigned to an unresolved Case Report will receive a daily email reminder listing how many unresolved Case Reports are waiting for their review. These reminders continue until all reports are resolved.

  2. Alerted Users (Case Group Alerts):
Each Case Group can have one or more additional alert users configured. If any new Case Reports are opened in that group within the past 24 hours, the system sends a single alert email to all of the group’s alert users. This message is sent as a summary, with all recipients included as BCC, so the group is informed but without revealing the full recipient list.

Key Differences

  • The assignee receives daily, ongoing reminders as long as Case Reports assigned to them remain open.
  • The alerted users receive one group alert per day if new Case Reports have been opened in the past 24 hours.

Case Group API

The Case Group API allows for the management of case groups within Veriscan, however the creation and updating of Case Groups are not typically a frequent activity within Veriscan and it is recommended that they be configured manually within the Veriscan web portal.
